Friday, December 31, 2010

2010 has been crazy, amazing, beautiful, tiring, exciting! I’ am truly blessed for my little family as well as for my extended family and wonderful friends. I thought I would share some random pictures from this year that never made it to the blog.

Santa Baby

Monday, December 27, 2010

I know, another way to late Christmas post. We decided to take the boys to visit Santa. Knowing my little stinker Diego would not cooperate at all, I spent weeks preparing him and explaining the whole process of sitting on Santa's lap and telling him what you want for Christmas. He was down to visit Santa, and for days would ask to finally go see him, so I was sure my plan had worked. Well we arrived at the mall, and he refused to wait in line, and decided he did not want to sit on Santa's lap. He was so calm and direct, without any crying involved. So we opted to avoid the embarassing task of forcing him to sit on Santa's lap. Dylan did not have any choice but to take on Santa all on his own. It was HILARIOUS! The kid refused to smile and was visibly upset. As unhappy as he was, he did not cry or scream, or try to get away. I had to buy this picture.

Maybe next year it will work out in my favor.

Mommy and Me

A few days ago I decided I wanted to take some pics with me and my boys as a Christmas gift for Daddy. My sister had originally agreed to shoot the pics for me, but was not able to make it. However I did have a back up, my 18 year old niece. I was so excited to get a sweet little pic of us, if you know me at all, you know I hate having my picture taken. Unfortunately, I did not realize how bad of a photographer my niece is. I should have set the camera to auto and not use a prime lens. Even though my head was cut off, I managed two save two after a little editing on Photoshop.

It might not be a "perfect" picture but I love it just the way it is.

Diegoisms

Monday, December 13, 2010

Diego sometimes comes up with the craziest things, out of nowhere. Half the time I'am amazed of all the information he has in that little head of his head. So I started documenting some of the things he says, so here you go:

#1
Me: Diego stop jumping off the bed before you hurt yourself, and then you will have to go to the doctor.

Diego: I take a chance Mom.

And continues to jump off the bed.

#2
Me: Diego do you want to sit on Santas lap and tell him what you want for Christmas?

Diego: No, I will tell you and you can go to the store and buy it.

#3
Diego: Mom is your pee blue?

Me: Uh, No?

Diego: My pee is blue. I went pee pee and it changed colors.

Diego used to only use his potty, now he uses the toilet, so the toilet bowl cleaner was a new thing for him.

#4
Diego: Stupid!

Me: Diego stop saying that it's a bad word.

Diego: Stup. Stup. Stup. Stup is not a bad word.

#4
I have itchieitis.

#5
Dinosaurs live in the jungle, and in museums

Almost Two

Where has the time gone? I realized I have not updated you guys on my precious baby boy Dylan in a while, and in a few short months he will be TWO. WOW, I can't believe my baby is almost two. I can't wait for his Monster themed party. We recently had family pictures done and I wanted to share some of my precious almost two year old boy.

Dylan at 22 Months

This kid loves to sing and dance. He sings to all his favoritedcartoons and anything on the radio. Right now he is a fan of The Black Keys thanks to Mommy. He loves to jump off the couch with big brother onto all the pillows they pulled off the couch and beds. He loves to run around and chase his brother.

Dylan keeps us on our toes day and night. He has always been the little rebel in the family. Recently he has added Temper Tantrums and Crying on Demand, to his bag of tricks. He is also the sweetest little boy ever. He loves to give kisses and snuggle. He says "i lub you" in the cutest little voice.

Dylan LOVES Scooby Doo just like big brother. He walks around yelling: "doooby doooo". He also loves to pretend sneeze, a very exagerated sneeze. He also knows how to pretend snore, and lately has learned to hide under covers and pillows when it's time for bed. He loves to play with cars, balls, and anything Diego is playing with.

Dylan has always been my foodie, he will eat anything you give him. Lately he has started to become a little pickier than normal. He loves beans, rice, cheeseburgers, chicken, pasta, strawberrries, grapes, oranges, tacos, spaghetti. He HATES fish sticks and coleslaw.

Favorite Shows: Wubzy, Olivia, Scooby Doo, Dora, Diego, Toy Story. And anything Diego is watching.

He's a talker. Some of the things Dylan says on a daily basis: "What dat", "Hmmm, tink tink" as he taps his finger on his cheek. "Oh no", Whoa". Everyday his vocabulary is growing, and it amazes me how fast he learns. And of course "NO"

I love my sweet boy! I love to watch him grow into the big boy he is becoming. Everyday is a new adventure, and I'am enjoying every minute of it.

Sweet Baby

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

It seems like everyone I know is having baby lately, which is a good thing for me. My friends have kind enought to allow me to not only practice my skills but document these beautiful moments. My friend just had her sweet Baby Vella, the only girl in a family with 3 boys. I love these pics with Mommy and Baby, because these were completely candid. You see Vella was not a cooperative little girl, and was awake most of the time, so most of these Mommy is just trying to soothe and love on Baby. I really didn't realize what I had until I uploaded them. I realize that THIS is the type of photography I want to do, no poses (as much as possible) just REAL moments.

Actually I would like to have those beautiful posed pictures of BABIES all tucked into little balls, sleeping, and oh so cute. My two newborn sessions so far I have not had that type of baby, maybe its a little girl thing.

Good news is I have another newborn session in a week, of a precious baby boy. I will keep my fingers crossed that he will be a trooper and allow me to capture some amazing pics.

I Heart Faces Dream Big Workshop

Earlier in the month I had the opportunity to attend the I Heart Faces photography workshop. It was a day of learning of everything about your camera and shooting in Manual Mode, backlight, ISO, SS, Aperture, etc. I myself have been shooting in Manual Mode for quite some time now, but it was nice to get a more hands on approach from professional photographers. After the informational portion of the workshop we headed outside to practice what we learned. We had the most adorable models, and of course the help of professional photographers and contributors of I Heart Faces: Dana Suggs, Rachel Durik, Angie Arthur, Jessica Paige, Amy Locurto and last but not least Michelle.

I took many shots, but these are probably my favorites.

She makes me want to have a daughter, well not really, but she is a beautiful little girl.

My attempts at backlight/harsh light.
