11 Months!

Sunday, January 31, 2010

Ok, so am I seriously telling you my Baby D is ll months old? Time has certainly flown! My precious boy is such a beautiful, cuddly little pumpkin. He is the best little brother and such a Daddys' Boy. He is as sweet as can be, and we can always count on him to be well behaved at the grocery store at a restaurant. He is so observant and fascinated by all the people and sounds he doesn't even make a peep, well sometimes. This month Dylan also had his first surgery. Nothing major, just tubes in his ears due to his frequent ear infections. He was absolutely the most snuggly I have ever seen him that day. He let every nurse hold him and cuddle with him. When the anesthesiologist came for him, I handed him over and he rested his little head on his shoulder and snuggled. Dr. H was guite impressed. His surgery went great, thanks to all my coworkers for taking great care of him!

Dylan is such a happy well behaved baby. He loves his brother and his toys. Dylan has developed quite a talent, dancing. He enjoys dancing, any chance he gets he's swinging from side to side or hopping up and down. He loves singing and clapping along to music and watching Nick Jr with Diego. Bath time has come to be one of his favorite play times. The kid seriously stands up and splashes around and makes a giant water filled mess.

This big boy is a great eater too. Anything bite size he devours. So far he likes spaghetti, toast, crackers, pancakes, eggs, raviolis, rice, beans, macaroni and cheese, spinach and he tried ice cream for the first time last night, and he couldn't get enough. Dylan is also a pro with the sippy cup too. He will take his formula from the sippy cup but is still learning to enjoy juice.

He can be quite mischevious, he's our little rebel. He definitely tests his limits. He will purposely put something in his mouth after we tell him not to, digs in my purse, takes Diego's toys, throws his pacifier and cry's until we give it back. He throws tantrums when he doesn't get his way, and especially when he thinks Diego is interfering with his time with Daddy.

He has been pulling himself up and standing for a while. He holds on to the couch or anything sturdy and
walks around. He tries to pull himself up when he is crawling without holding onto something but hasn't quited figured out how yet. Dylan holds my hands and walks but is scared to venture out alone, but I do think he will be walking in no time.

Dylan we love you so much! I can't wait to celebrate you First Birthday in a couple of weeks.

Stay tuned for birthday planning posts and of course the big day!

My Little Monkey

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

I'm sure you remember my brave attempts of transitioning Diego to his big boy bed. Yeah, well that didn't quite work out as planned so we pretty much gave up on that. So Diego is pretty much still sleeping in his crib, and he is perfectly happy with it. Well last weekend, on our way home Diego fell asleep in the car. As soon as he touched the crib he woke up crying, of course it was late so we just comforted him and let him try to fall asleep. He didn't. He just cried, and called for us to get him out. We could hear him in the monitor, but we knew he would fall asleep pretty quick because he always does. So after a while, Daddy opened our door and there was little man just standing in the hallway. Yes he climbed out! I don't know how but he did. First we were shocked because he has never attempted to get out of his crib, never. Then we had to make sure he was okay, which he was. He just said " I don wanna go night night". Eventually we put him back in his crib and he fell asleep, without any escape attempts. I'm convinced he has been secretly trying to get out his crib, planning his escape route, for who knows how long. So yeah, I think we will be going to the big boy bed plan again, just to keep him safe. The next morning I noticed he had a bump on his head, and I asked him what happened, he said " I jump out my crib, hit my head on the floor", but rest assured he has not jumped out of his crib since that night. I think he might of scared himself.

Confessions of a Shopaholic Mom- Stuff I L.O.V.E

Monday, January 25, 2010

I love to blog surf. Just random blogs, crafting blogs, family blogs, anything really. In my blog surfing I have come across the neatest blogs. I just had to share.
First up, How Does She has the cutest little Valentine's Day crafts, tips and tricks. I visit this one every day. I especially love her Stay in Love, Keep dating tips. Check it out for organization, decor, and crafting ideas.

I about died when I found Ana over at Knock off Wood. She is a carpenter who makes knock off furniture cheap, and even shares with you the plans for the furniture so you can make it yourself. I'm talking about Pottery Barnesque furniture that are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced, but now attainable. So I'm working on getting The Husband to conquer one of the plans she has for beds and bookshelves.

I seriously don't know how much time I waste spend blog surfing, but I enjoy all the ideas I get doing it.

Isn't it lovely?

Last weeks weather was awesome! I mean it was like Spring in January, you gotta love Texas' crazy weather. Friday after work I took the boys out for a little a walk around the neighborhood. Diego loves to be outside and loves riding his bike. I can't wait for Spring, hopefully by then Dylan will be walking also.

New Look, More Time, Schools Out!

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Thanks a million to Jennisa at Once Upon a Blog for hooking my blog up!!! I just love the header.

I will definitely have a little more time to update my blog now, since I'am officially done with my nursing program. WOOHOO! I'm so excited I don't even know what to do. I will be taking my LVN boards in early February, I'm so pumped. I decided to take this semester off, and then I will start working on my RN prerequisites, and hopefully within a year or so I will be accepted into an RN program. Right now I'm trying to figure out where I want to work, but I'm leaning towards working a night or weekend shift, in order to be at home with the boys during the day. I'm sure many of you never thought I would want to be a stay at home mom, which technically I will still be a working mom. It just works out better, I won't have to worry about leaving work because the kids are sick, or paying the crazy amount of money we do for daycare, plus I can spend quality time with my boys. I'am really so excited to see what this year has in store for us, thanks everyone for the support, and words of encouragement. Love you much!

When the Cat is Away...

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

I don't about you guys, but I'm away the boys just seem to run wild. Just plain nuts. If you have a spouse like mine, who can't coordinate clothing for the little ones, then you also have to make sure you leave matching clothes for the kids. So every night I iron my uniforms and clothes for Diego and Dylan for the next day. I'm sure many of you are gasping of the idea of ironing, and I have had that conversation with everyone I know. Yes, I iron every night, it might be an OCD thing, I don't know. The stranger thing is, my sisters do it too, they iron every night or morning. Maybe it's just a cultural thing. What do you think? ANYWAY, so when I have class I make sure Daddy has matching clothes for the kids, I find the socks- because he still doesn't know where they are, I find the shoes, call him in the morning and make sure he knows where I left everything, remind him to give the kids their medicine, etc, etc. There have been days when I just went to bed without doing this, and I come home and the kids look like orphans, and he has actually taken them out shopping like that! The horror I know! Pretty much the Diego rules the house when I'm gone, eats candy all day, lays around in his pajamas watching tv. Like this morning when I got out of the shower Diego was awake and had a sucker in his mouth, at 6 am. I just looked at Daddy and he is all like "What"?

Last weekend, I came home to Diego eating this. He said "Dada gave me sprikles, I love sprikles". Cupcake sprinkles, I don't think they are part of the food pyramid.

Hello 2010!

Saturday, January 2, 2010

2009 has been a wonderful, crazy year! Our first Baby D celebrated his Second birthday in 2009, and Baby D #2 completed our little family in February. We made new friends, and reconnected with a old ones too. On New Years Eve Daddy decide to make some Menudo, and my sister Amy and her family and Grandpa came over to ring in the new year. The kids had so much fun with their hats, and the "toots" as Diego called their horns. Poor Dylan couldn't stay up long enough to wear the hats, but Diego stayed up until 12:30 then knocked out.

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope your 2010 is filled with laughter and joy!

Ten Things I Love About You!

Yes sir, my baby D is 10 months old! Not only did Dylan celebrate his very First Christmas, but also his First New Years Eve! 2009 has been a great year for us and I can't wait for Dylan's first birthday. We love this precious boy so much!
Do you guys remember the movie 10 Things I Hate About You? I love that movie, so I thought I would borrow the concept and list the things I love about Dylan and his 10 month milestones.  I have more than a million reasons why I love Dylan, but in the spirit of fun, I will stick with ten.

1) I love this boys curly but sparse hair! I keep wishing he will grow a crazy amount of curly hair like his big brother.

2) I love that  he sometimes gives me the same look Diego does. That "what mom?" look.

3) His beautiful Smile

4) He loves his big brother
5) He is a good eater, he loves crackers, toast, baby food, teething biscuits, cereal puffs.

6) Loves cuddling with Daddy

7) His feet

8) I love his ever changing temperment. He still is as serious, and quite as ever, but every now and them he gets pretty upset and throws things, screams, and hits.

9) He loves to clap and dance

10) That he has made my life much more happier and complete!
