Pumpkin Patch Time!

Monday, October 26, 2009

Every year since Diego was born we have taken a little trip to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. I just love the pumpkin patch! I love all the cute little cut outs, the pumpkins, the hay bales, everything about it. This year was Dylan’s very first time to the pumpkin patch, and I was so pumped, I knew I was going to get the perfect pictures of him sitting up like a big boy. I pretty much knew I would not get any pics of Diego since he is so anti-pictures. We didn’t go to our usual pumpkin patch, instead we went to Pumpkin Express in Argyle. It was such the cutest place, and they had a miniature railroad that travels along the whole property. Diego of course loved the train ride. I was kinda upset about not being to take Dylan’s first pumpkin patch inside the same pumpkin as Diego for his first pumpkin patch, and they did not have as much cut-outs for pictures like our usual spot. They do have a lot of neat little things and Diego had so much fun on the slides. I did get a lot of pictures but Dylan was so fascinated by the grass he hardly ever looked up at the camera. Diego of course ran away and wouldn’t sit still long enough to for a family pic, but finally I did get some good ones of us.

First here are some pics of Diego’s first time at the pumpkin patch, totally opposite from Dylan.

That pretty much sums up his experience, but then again he was only 3 months old.

This was my attempt of getting a nice of pic of the boys together, believe met I took about a million and these were the best.

Aren't they just adorable?

Picture This

Monday, October 19, 2009

I absolutely HATE taking pictures, I really don't like it. I spend most of my time taking pictures of the boys, or Daddy and the boys, or my family. As you can imagine I don't have many pictures of just Me and the boys. I decided I was going to stop being so picky and self conscious and FORCE myself to take pictures. This weekend we went to the pumpkin patch, and I took so many pictures with my boys I was quite amazed. Of course there are some that are horrible, but Iam also my own worst critic, but I resisted and did not delete them. One day when I am long gone, I want Diego and Dylan to have countless captured memories of me enjoying being a mom, me crazy in love with them, me at my worst and best. I think they would rather have those bad images of me where my hair was messy, or my face was contorted, than nothing at all. Still I will never show anyone except my boys those ugly pics. These are my favorites:

So if you are anything like me, let your hair down and relax, enjoy the ride, but don't forget to include yourself in those pictures with your loved ones.

Guess How Much I Love You

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

When I was pregnant with Diego, 2 of my coworkers were also pregnant with little boys and we were all due a month apart. Our company gave us a joint baby shower, and one of my pregnant coworkers gave the other prego and I the book Guess How Much I Love You. I just love to read this to little man, and I always tell him "I love you very much" and he always says "Love you much Mama". Tonight as I rocked Dylan to sleep, Diego sat at the end of the bed. He looked at me with the most adoring little eyes and cute smile.

Me: "I love you Diego" I whispered.

Diego: "I love you too Mama" he whispered back.

Then he opened his arms as wide as he could and asked

Diego: "Much?"

Me: "Yes, very much baby"

And then he reached aroung and gave both Dylan and I a huge bear hug. TOO CUTE! Then minutes later he crawled onto my lap and let out a big fart right on my leg. He starts to giggle and whispers " I poopoo Mama!"

That totally killed that moment. I still love him all the way to the moon and back, farts and all.

Confessions of a Shopaholic Mom

Saturday, October 3, 2009

I have been wondering if I should openly admit this or not, but a few of you know my weakness. It used to be shoes, shoes, shoes. That was before I had kids. Since I had my boys I have become even more nuts. Don’t get me wrong I’m not OVER THE TOP need a Intervention type of shopaholic, don’t worry, I do have limits. But if your like me, I can’t resist a good sale. For instance I bought Diego a pair of wannabe Vans slip-ons from Old Navy that are a couple of sizes to big only because they were on clearance for $5, and they were neon green and black. Adorable! I even bought a desk for $5 that was originally $50. So I guess you can say I’m a resourceful shopaholic.

This was Diego’s closet before he was born, and there was a ton more stuff from my showers that hadn’t made it in there at that time. I had so much stuff Diego maybe wore some things once before he grew out of it. Good thing Dylan was a boy, he put all that clothes to good use. What? So I went a bit overboard on shopping for my FIRST born. That is normal right?

I took this pic a couple of months ago. These are all of Diego’s shoes. It is so much worse now. Not all the shoes fit in the closet, so some our in my room. That kid has more shoes than I think I have had in my whole life.

102_0599 See what I mean? Whew! I feel much better. So with that I want to show you some of the new Fall/Winter stuff I have had my eye on. I just love black and gray, rock n roll, skulls, anything out of the box, for my boys.

7 Months

Can you believe that my precious boy will be ONE in only a few more short months. In case you didn’t know I have already started planning the big shindig- more on that later. Dylan so far is the TOTAL opposite from Diego. He is a quiet, serious, happy baby. He is a MAMAS BOY to the max. If all babies were like Dylan I would have more. Dylan loves to eat, and eat, and eat. He is a healthy little fellow. He loves to cuddle, he stares at you for very long periods, I mean he just glues his little eyes on you. He loves, no, adores his big brother. He even has his first two bottom teeth. My baby D is growing up!

IMG_1323

IMG_1180  IMG_1187 Dylan hates tummy time, always has. When he is on his tummy he tries to get on all fours. He rolls around all day long. I think he will be crawling soon, I don’t know if I should be excited or worried.

IMG_1281This is the look I got when he thought he spent to much time on his tummy.  IMG_1284

IMG_1290 As we all know baby D loves to suck on his hands and feet, constantly. If he doesn’t have his hand in his mouth you find him with his pacifier. He loves his pacifier, you can’t take that thing away from him.

IMG_1059 IMG_0853 IMG_0933 Dylan is also learning to sit up on his own. He pretty much has got the hang out it now, he doesn’t fall over and can sit up for longer periods of time.

IMG_0701  His new favorite toy is the Exersaucer, he LOVES that thing. The bouncer and swing have nothing on this bad boy.

This kid is gonna have curly hair just like his big brother, It’s a big mess now. Nothing I do tames those wispy curls.

I love you Dylan!
