Almost 3!

Thursday, May 27, 2010

I can't believe my baby boy will turn 3 in a few short months! I feel like we just celebrated his 2nd birthday just yesterday. I hate that he is no longer my baby, but I'am enjoying watching him learn and grow. Everyday is a new adventure with both boys, and I'm living it up all I can, since I'm pretty sure we will not be adding another child to our loving family.

Speaking of parties...

I have been planning his party for the last few months, and this past week I completely changed my theme. First I'am not a big fan of characters like Spongebob and Scooby Doo, it's just not my thing. However, Diego is LOVES Toy Story right now. Which Is cool because it is my FAVORITE movie. I even saw Toy Story on Ice 12 years ago, and I swear that was the best show ever. This week while shopping at Dillards, Diego found a Toy Story 3 shirt and begged for it, to the point where we couldn't sneak it out of his hands and hide it. He said "It's so cuute Mom, please can I buy it?". So I gave in and bought it. So our new theme is you guessed it Toy Story. I know last year we had a Backyardigans party, but that's what Diego wanted, and this party is about him not me. I have given up my dream of a Vintage Transportation party, for now at least.

I can't wait for the new Toy Story Movie!

Movie Date

A couple of weekends ago we took Diego to see How to Train a Dragon. This was Diego's very first time at the movie theater, so he was really excited, and I was really nervous. We dropped off Dylan at my sisters house and brought my niece and nephew along. Diego always has a awesome time with them. He LOVED the movie! He has a obsession with dragons right now too. He did really well, except for every once in a while talking a little to loudly. Towards the end he did get a little restless and we had to take him out of the theater for a moment. Fortunately, this was a kid movie, and there were many kids just like him, and I didn't get any rude remarks or "SHHHS". This was a little test, since I really want to take him to see Toy Story 3 this summer. Now I know he can be well behaved and we can have a great quality time with our Little Man.

He totally was digging his little snack pack

I don't know what happened here, but I love the outcome

I was trying to not be the annoying lady taking pictures, so I turned off my flash. Most of pics all look grainy like this.

14 Months

Sunday, May 9, 2010

Dear Dylan,

You are now 14 months olds! You keep me on my toes non-stop. You don't sit still for very long, and now that your walking, you just keep going and going. You love to wrestle with your brother, and watch cartoons. Your slowly leaving the baby phase behind and becoming a toddler. Now you play with big boy cars and action figures. The baby toys are now in the corner collecting dust.

Your hair is getting wilder and curlier every minute. I'm still avoiding your first haircut as much as I can. I want to see how curly your hair can get. Even though it might be easier with short hair, since you like to put food in your hair and sometimes it's an unctrollable mess.
You put the remote or cell phone against your ear and blab away. You LOVE to dance, every day it is more evident. Any type of music you hear you shake your little booty.
Another thing you have learned to do, is tattle on your brother when he is picking on you. You scream "Mama" anytime he bothers you. You defend yourself if you need to also.

You are my beautiful sweet baby. I don't think you will ever get enough cuddling with Mom and Dad. You are content most of the time relaxing on our bed with us and watching tv. Nap time is your favorite part of the day. You can take 3 or 4 naps in a day if we let you.

Oh how I love you!

Operation Stay At Home Mom

Monday, May 3, 2010

Today was my first day as a part time stay at home mom. It was pretty low key, no activities planned or anything. We woke up had breakfast and headed to Walmart for some some quick shopping. Today was also the first time ever that I went to the grocery store with both Diego and Dylan, alone. So I was kinda anticipating a tantrum at some point but the boys were so good. I did make sure to have a conversation with Diego before we headed out, about being a good boy. He sure was, It might have been the Toy Story sippy cups I bought him. Haha! The kid hasn't used a sippy cup in a year or so, mainly because our former daycares thing was to teach the kids to use regular cups, to promote independence or something like that. Since he is on a Toy Story kick, which happens to be my FAVE movie, I indulged my little prince with the purchase. Then we had lunch, and Diego shocked me again. Never, ever, ever has Diego eaten a burger. Always refuses to, plus he is such a picky eater. Today he actually wanted to eat a burger, and he did, but without the bun. I was quite impressed with my little man, he is becoming more independent everyday. Dylan also deserved a lot of praise. Last night we put him down for bed without his trusty sidekick, the bottle. He didn't even notice, he slept all through the night. Now I know not everyday is going to be happy and stress free, but I think I'am up for the challenge.

Family Randomness

Sunday, May 2, 2010

I truly have the best family ever. I know that my by brothers and sisters love and enjoy my boys as much as I do. With the exception of one of my sisters who lives in Tulsa, we all live very close and we see each other regularly. My boys are so lucky to have them around.

My little brother and Dylan

I love when these kids are laughing and acting silly together. It gets a little hectic and loud, but I love how they all love each other so much.
