In a nutshell... was pretty fantastic! Making memories, continuing traditions, and last but not least watching my babies grow into big boys.

Look at the Camera!

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

I think I have some pretty good looking boys! They sure know how to work the camera, when they feel like it.

Halloween 2011-a few months late

Thursday, December 1, 2011

I do not have very many pictures from Halloween, but I still wanted to share images of the boys and their costumes. I had it in my mind for years now that I wanted to make a Nacho Libre costume for Diego. Sadly, my costume ideas for Diego never happen. Diego decided early on that he wanted to be a Ninja, only after he saw the swords and other ninja accessories at Target. I was having a conversation about the Nacho Libre costume and showed her some pictures of various DIY versions. She convinced me that WE should make Dylan a Nacho Libre costume. First let me say, we are somewhat crafty, I mean my sister makes bows and girlie things, but none of us own a sewing machine. So we had come up with something that required little to no sewing. I wish I would have taken pictures of the process but I didn’t.

Most of these pics are really grainy and out of focus but I’am posting them anyway. This was the first year Dylan GOT Halloween. The last 2 years he was pushed in the stroller, but this year he was all about running around to each house. After about a block or two both Diego and Dylan were tired and were ready to call it a night.

I'm a Ninja, I'm a Ninja

Monday, November 28, 2011

I took these photos of Diego back in late September, I just have  not gotten around to posting them. I like to say Diego is my faithful model, but really he requires a little convincing sometimes. Other times he WANTS to have his picture taken and suggests poses that he wants to do. This particular evening I wanted to take some photos at golden hour, so I convinced Diego to get dressed, brush his unruly hair(we are trying to grow his hair out) and show me his "moves" as he says. We headed outside to the alley behind our house where the homes and trees behind blocked the sun. He loved being able to act like a ninja, dinosaur hunter, power ranger, and a super hero- a combination of everything he loves, and was happy to oblige his picture crazy Momma. After he took his mandatory photos, I sat on the ground and just let him play whatever he was playing and capture my little boy, just being a boy. I love his crazy imagination.

Dude

I can't get enough of this Little Dude. He definitely keeps me on my toes, but I love him so much. He is very stubborn but also genuinely sweet. I think Diego has influenced his demeanor a lot. He acts more like a 4 year old than my little two year old. I'am lucky that have two boys that enjoy learning. He is still not one for pictures, I don't think I have any pics of him looking straight at the camera. I love his  little free spirit. Oh, and we are still not a diaper free home.
