Lions, Tigers, and Bears

Monday, April 19, 2010

About a month ago, we packed up the kids and headed to the Ft. Worth Zoo. The weather was awesome, but the crowds were not. I swear we parked about a mile away, I guess everyone else loved the weather as well, because the place was packed. Diego had the best time, and Dylan well he just didn't really care. The beauty of Dylan is that he is perfectly content just sitting in the stroller, as long as he has his pacifier. Most of my pictures from that day are the back of Diego's head or profile. He was so fascinated by the animals, and mimicking their sounds, and asking a billion questions. I love how his little brains works.

I love this one, I think I need one of these signs to hang around the boys necks

I wish I would have had my new camera lens then, I would have gotten way better pictures of the animals.

Dylan was the best kid ever, except for the minor incident where he vomited on my nieces face. Haha! Priceless! Please excuse the snotty noses, the kids were having allergies or something, the next few days both of my boys stayed home sick.

Maybe next time, Dylan will be a more active participant and both boys snot free.

Easter 2010

This year we decided to extend Easter and celebrate for two days instead of just Sunday. We spent Easter Sunday in Arlington for a Birthday/Easter celebration with most of our cousins. Traditionally, we spend every Easter at my older sisters house with a cookout, egg hunt, cascarones, and crazy fun. One year, a very, very, long time ago, I dressed as the Easter Bunny. Boy was it hot, and I vowed never to do that again. Of course this was pre-baby era, but my nieces and nephews LOVED it.

For some reason Diego was in bummed out, I think it was being around a lot of family members he doesn't know. After a while he loosened and had a blast running around, and jumping in the bounce house.
Cascarones is always a must in our family. I opted out from participating a couple of years ago, due to a very aggressive older sister :)

The following day after work, we had our egg hunt and the kids smashed the cascarones. Don't ask why Dylan is using his Halloween bucket.

As you can see, Diego refused to remove his goodies from his basket. Halfway through his stuff was falling out and he was holding his eggs in one hand.
This was Dylan's second Easter, last year he was a tiny baby. He had no idea what was going on, but he loved trying to suck on the eggs and eating the candy.

I love how my Little Man always gives his little brother kisses.

Family

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

My sister is one of my best friends, and so I truly love that my kids and her kids love each other so much. My niece and nephews are all at least 4 years older than Diego and Dylan, but they still play with them and let Diego boss them around as much as he likes. I hope they will always be the best of cousins.

13 Months

Monday, April 12, 2010

I am really late on this post but I have been way busy, but  tonight Im finally going to update Dylan's new milestones.

Finally my baby boy has taken his first steps! He still is very scared hesitant to walk on his own, but we make him at least try. He loves to try to stand up and balance himself on the our bed. Of course, consider the unsteadiness of a mattress it doesn't last very long. Every day we make him "practice" his walking, we are just waiting for the day where he does it on his own.

Besides attempting to walk, he is also trying to climb down our bed. Our bed is pretty high off the ground, and this crazy kid takes on the task of conquering, and it is hilarious to watch. He pretty much is into everything now. If I leave a drawer of his dresser open he will take out all the clothes and make a huge mess. He takes out the all the toys from the toy box, and empties my purse when he can. He tends to bother his big brother a lot but also loves to be near him as much Diego allows.

He is still a BIG eater! He loves to eat, anything and everything. He now weights 22 lbs, but is a tall boy. He is 32 inches long! I believe big brother was 37 inches at his 2 year checkup, so it seems Dylan might catch up to him. They take after Daddy in the height department. He has all four top front teeth in now, and his two bottom teeth.

Technically this Easter was Dylan's second Easter, but since he was only a month old last year, I don't think it really counts. He enjoyed being passed around to anyone willing to hold and cuddle with him. He loved the candy, his Easter treats, and the confetti eggs.

As you can tell he still L.O.V.E.S his paci.

Dylan also went to the zoo for the first time. He was not all that impressed, mostly stayed in the stroller the whole time and people watched.

Dylan is still the loveable, cuddly baby he has always been, the one that cries when we walk out the room. The baby that gets excited when he sees his big brother first thing in the morning. Each day I look forward to watching my little guy grow and learn new things.

I love you to the moon and back Dylan!

Rise and Shine Sleepy Head

Friday, April 9, 2010

I dont know about you, but one of my favorite time of the day is when Dylan wakes up after a long night nights sleep. Good thing he is waking up a lot later, because that would be a different story. In the mornings he is so sweet, and cuddly and in such a good mood. He always has a serious case of bed head.

My Heart Melts

Monday, April 5, 2010

There is nothing better to me than spending time with Diego and Dylan. In a few weeks, I will start my new job as a part time stay at home Mommy as well as my new full time job as a Nurse. I can't wait to wake up and hang out and play with my boys everyday, and then head out to work and Daddy will take over.

Now I can witness more moments like these

Just the Two of Us

There is one thing Diego and I tend to agree on, we hate taking pictures. It never turns out so great when we try. He runs anytime he sees the camera, and so do I. Whenever the rare oppurtunity arises when you get a pic of both of us, one of us is always in lala land. I don't know what I was doing in this pic, my sister just happened to snap at  the wrong moment. My hair! It was a terrible humid day.
