Finally the day, that I have been planning for at least 6 months has arrived. Dylan's first birthday, Rockstar style! I think everything turned out better than I imagined. The only thing I did not have a chance to do was the VIP passes. I waited until the last minute and then I didn't have a chance to finish them. Still everything came together.
The invitation I ordered from Etsy
We set the table with black table covers and used houndstooth print wrapping paper that I found at Hobby Lobby as runners.
I found these glass vases at the Dollar Tree, glued houndstooth ribbon around and glued a guitar pick graphic I printed on cardstock. The KISS m&m's I found months ago at Walmart on clearance so I bought about 20 bags of them. Each vase had a picture of Dylan from every month of his life. An extra special thanks to Cupcakes and Cutlery for the graphics, links, and inspiration.
These are my favorite things ever! I found these "1" and guitar candy molds at Candy Mold Central. This was my first time working with candy molds and I loved it. I didn't realize until after that you can use different colors for the details. We wrapped two pieces of foam and stuck the lollipops in there.
The cake! My vision became a reality. Thanks Vicky for the delicious cake. We couldn't find the cake topper or the sparklers she provided.
The somewhat smashed/wrinkled goody bags. I filled these with candy, cookies, skull erasers, guitar necklaces, and glow in the dark bracelets. The stickers I also bought off Etsy.
I love this. I originally was going to do Non-alcoholic jello shots, but I scratched that off my list at the last minute. I bought these chalkboards at Kirklands, and the buckets from Target in the dollar bins. I thought it would be cute to fill them with root beer. I did not get a picture of the food, but we served food fit for a Rockstar in training. Corndogs, mini burgers, fries, and hotwings.
The cake when we finally found the guitar topper.
The sign at the door. We were going to have my brother the "bouncer" at the door checking tickets and handing the kids their VIP passes but that work out.
What's a Rockstar party without a red carpet
Alot of the kids came in their Rockstar best: clothes and mohawks. The kids decorated guitars I found at Michaels. We had a little tattoo shop and Rockstar hairspray going on. The kids loved it!
My nephew graciously posing for me, even though the sun was right in his face.
My birthday boy!
Dylan and his green hair
He loved the balloons.
Dylan's tattoo Daddy picked out.
My niece and her purple, which is not her costume but her "normal" highlights.
My niece helping Baby D open his gifts
I had the most fun planning this party. I can't wait for next year! Thanks to all of our friends and our family for helping celebrate Dylan's big day. We love you guys!
ROCK ON!

Love this party! Where did you get the graphics? When I go to cupcakes and cutlery I didn't see anything so I wasn't sure...
Love this party! This would make a great addition to my "Time to Party Tuesday" feature on my blog, From Pedicures to Puddles: The Blissful life of a boy mom. Do you mind if I were to feature it??
