4 Months!

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

We headed to the pediatricians office yesterday for Dylan’s 4 month well. Baby D is doing better than ever. According to the pediatrician, he is right on point with every 4 month old baby, they don’t normally expect premature babies to catch up so fast. He is in the 50th percentile for weight, and 75th percentile for height. Baby D is cooing, laughing, and he plays his with his chubby little hands. He loves to shove those chubby hands in his mouth and use them as a paci. He is trying to roll from his back on to his side, he hasn’t quite mastered it yet but he keeps on trying. She especially commented on his ability to hold his little head up so well. Of course he is still sleeping through the night, even though last night he did fuss a lot. I’m hoping that was due to those immunizations he was surprised with while he was taking a little nap. He screamed pretty loud but it only lasted a few seconds. Hopefully pretty soon we can get some yummy pics of Dylan eating baby food.

4 Month Stats

Weight: 14lbs 12 oz------- +4 in 2 months

Length: 25 1/2t-------- +3 in two months

Head Circumfrence: 16 1/2------- +1 in two months

Father’s Day and More

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

This weekend we spent the days shopping, cooking out and attempting to have professional pictures taken of the boys. We went to one our favorite photography places Portrait Innovations, where you get a ton of pictures at a reasonable price. Once again, we planned to have photos of both Diego and Dylan together, and again Diego wasn’t a happy camper and cried the entire time. We even tried to trick him with toys, I even sat next to him, behind him, stood in front of him, but nothing worked. Finally we gave up, with the huge crocodile tears and swollen eyes, we weren’t going to get any awesome pictures.

This was our first attempt of joint pictures back in March when Dylan was almost a month old. As you can see Diego just wasn’t in a picture taking mood this time either.

This time, well we didn’t even get a shot taken, so I have no evidence of his tantrums. With the ways things are going I don’t think he will ever pose for another professional shoot.

In fact these were the last professional pics of Diego, taken back in December. What happened to that sweet little boy that loved posing for the camera? Oh yeah, he is turning two, and he isn’t so cooperative anymore.

We did get the cutest pictures of Dylan. He just loved the camera. There were so many to choose from, but these are my favorites.

On Fathers Day, we spent the majority of the day at home, relaxing. That was the best, plus it was way to hot to play outside. Daddy even made us a pancake breakfast, even on his day he takes great care of us. Later on that evening, we headed to Aunt Prieta’s Cynthia’s house for a Father’s Day cookout.

This was not actually taken on Father’s Day, but I just love this picture of my boys. This is how we normally spend our weekends, when we are off of work and school. In our PJ’s spread out on the living room floor or in bed watching Wubbzy or Backyardigans, Diego’s favorite.

Diego recently got his very first bike. We skipped the traditional tricycle and bought him this one with lights and engine sounds. He can’t quite reach the pedals, but he loves it. He mainly just pushes it around.

Stay tuned for our attempt at family portraits here in a few months, I’m pretty sure I will have some interesting stories to tell.

3 Months Baby!

Saturday, June 6, 2009

Dylan, I really can’t believe it has been 3 short months since you made your unexpected appearance and turned my world upside down, in a good way of course. My little “punkin” has grown so much, and your not that little bitty old man baby we brought home, like Benjamin Button almost! At your 2 month checkup you were about 11 lbs-I think, I forgot to have them write down all your measurements. Note to self: make future doctors appointments ONE baby at a time. What can I say, it is a learning experience for all of us. You have had many accomplishments, but our favorite is that your finally sleeping through the night! WOOHOO!

My little man 102_1064102_0940

You definitely can keep up a conversation. You now make all types of “goo’s” and many more baby sounds. 102_1009My sweet boy, I think you love taking pictures! You always have a silly face for mommy. I love the surprised look you have been giving me lately.

You love to cuddle, and when you lay beside mommy you snuggle so close to me, you fall fast asleep. That’s our new naptime trick.

Those adorable little smiles you showed off a couple of months ago, well they are better than ever. You especially give a glimpse of your sweetness anytime your getting your diaper changed.102_0984102_0831

I can’t wait for all the wonderful things to come! We are in for a quite ride this first year, you wait and see. You are such an awesome and beautiful child. I thank God everyday for blessing us with you.

I LOVE YOU DYLIE!

Memorial Day Weekend

On Memorial Day we decided to take a little trip to the Children’s Museum. Diego was kinda grumpy at first but after he lightened up he had a blast running around and playing with all the neat toys.

Diego as a farmer. He carried his little bag around and picked all the produce he can stuff into the bag.

102_1039 I thought this was pretty cool, almost looks like Diego is about to be swallowed102_1058After an hour or so of begging Diego to put on the little outfits, he finally decided to play Firefighter.  102_1090

Even Dylan got in some nice play time102_1068

I think Daddy had more fun than Diego. Between milking the cow, and wearing all the funny hats, he couldn’t get enough of this place.102_1042102_1072 102_1069   102_1049

We also finally broke down, well Daddy finally broke down, and bought a double stroller. This outing was the perfect opportunity to test it out. Let me tell you I LOVE it. It was so easy to push around even with two babies, a diaper bag busting at the seams, and my purse. Thanks Daddy!
