Say Cheese!

Nothing makes these boys happier than an ice cream treat. I have been known to bribe them with treats to smile for me.

Grapevine Sealife Aquarium

Sunday, October 9, 2011

Last weekend we visited the new aquarium in  Grapevine Mills Mall. Diego had been asking for days to go to the aquarium and see the sharks. We were pretty pumped about going. First let me give my honest opinion about the aquarium. It is quite small. For the price and all the buzz I was expecting something bigger. The exhibits were nice and the boys loved it, but I was some what disappointed.  I realize, this is not Sea World or anything like Texas State Aquarium ( which I love), but for my boys it was perfect.

I did like that they interactive activities throughout the aquarium. Diego was even brave enough to stick his hand in the tank and touch the starfish

This was my favorite part. The 360 degree underwater tunnel. For some reason my boys were scared to walk through. It was not the fish swimming over their heads, but the floor where there was fish underneath us as well. We had this happen at the zoo and the park, with walking over a bridge. So the first time we had to carry them through the tunnel. We decided to go back and make  encourage them to walk through on their own. At first they were hesistant, but then they realized it was not scary at all, and they were able to enjoy the tunnel.

My pictures are pretty grainy. You aren't allowed to use a flash, and my camera can't handle ISO's and the aquarium was pretty dark.

Potty Time News

The task of potty training Dylan has begun, it has been maybe a month now. So far, Dylan is still wearing diapers. He is really good about wanting to wear underwear, he just won't use the potty.  There have been a few days where he would just not go at all, in the potty or his underwear. At least that confirms that he is ready to potty train if he can hold it for hours. We also have days where  we have multiple under wear changing. We have had some break through moments where he has used the potty, and he is completely excited. Then the next trip he refuses to go. So, I'm sure it will be a few more weeks until I can say we are a diaper free house.

A Taste of Fall

A few weeks ago, we had our first taste of fall weather. It was such a huge relief from our HOT summer we had. We spent the next couple of days at the park flying kites and running around. Slurpees or ice cream cones always follow our park trips, so the boys were loving these cooler days. I'am so happy fall is upon us, perfect weather for pumpkin patch, parks, and zoo trips.

This was Dylan's first time on the big kid swings. He was hesitant at first, but couldn't get enough of it after his fear passed.

Thank you Pinterest

I jumped on the Pinterest band wagon a few months ago, and OMG! I spend countless hours pinning thanks to the Iphone App. I found this color shaving cream on Pinterest, and decided to try it out with the boys at bath time. They thought it was the coolest thing ever and spent an hour so in the bath tub. I have so many neat things pinned that I want to do.
You can find me on Pinterest here!!!

Madison and Andrew

My niece and nephew have been forced modeling for me for a good 10 years now. They are almost always up to have their picture taken. I had to share a few taken a few weeks ago.
