Brotherly Love

Monday, April 27, 2009

Everyone wants to know how Diego has been handling the arrival of Dylan. The first two days at the hospital he did not want anything to do with him. As soon as we brought him home he has been nothing but attentive to his little brother. Whenever he cries he will let us know, as if we can't hear him ourselves. He even says "I love you Baby" almost everyday. He even would cry when I would drop Dylan at the sitters house, he finally has come to terms with that. He is such a good brother. Yeah occasionally he takes Dylans pacifier, and tries to sit in the swing, and definitely does sit in Dylans bouncer when he's wathcing his favorite cartoons. I can't get him to call Dylan by his name yet, he just calls him Baby. One thing at a time right?

Theres no words to describe this picture
I wonder what he was thinking...
Ever since Dylan came home Diego has been asking to hold him. It lasts about a second then he tries to shove Dylan off as fast as he can.

He even takes naps with the little guy. Well Diego was completely knocked out, so he had no choice in this matter.

My two boys. They also kinda match, I really didn't do that on purpose. Isn't this just the coolest pic ever?

Occasionally he tries to feed Dylan too. He hasn't quite mastered being gentle, or putting the bottle in Dylans mouth long enough for Dylan to actually eat.
He definitely loves his little brother, whether he wanted to or not.

Two Months!

Dear Dylan: AKA Dylie Willie, Dyl Pickle, Baby

I can hardly believe its been two whole months since you came into my life. You definitely have brought us much more happiness than I could imagine. What can I say, so far you are such a good baby. You sleep, eat, poop, sleep, eat, poop. But now little man you have blessed us with your crooked little smile. I hope those are real smiles and not just gassy baby smiles. Either way keep them coming! Everyday you look more like your brother Diego, lets hope you don't inherit his temper- he is so much like your daddy.

This little frog outfit was the first thing I bought when I was pregnant with your brother Diego, now you can wear it too. You look as adorable as he did when he first wore it. Shhh, don't tell him this belongs to him, he might just rip it off of you.

Time flys baby! You gave mommy alot of trouble, and I had to stay in bed to keep you safe. Finally you made your appearance, and we were all so happy.
I must warn you mommy is a bit obsessive compulsive, so you will have to deal with that. Your lucky you will not have it twice as bad as Diego did his first year. For now Dylie Willie, mommy is just gonna enjoy your sweet baby smell, your smiles, and your cries, and let you cuddle with me and Daddy as much as you want to. I wont even get mad when you pee all over me when I change your diapers.
Love Always,
Mommy

How can you resist this adorable little face? I cant. Even when he fights or throws a tantrum I still cant be mad at him.

Haircuts and Smiles

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

So I finally gave in and took Diego for another haircut. I was getting tired of fighting with him in the mornings or after baths to try to brush. Plus with summer coming around I figured it would be much easier with short hair.

Before

After

I just love his faux hawk. My baby looks like a big boy, so its kinda bittersweet because he is growing up so fast. He will always be my baby, even though he gets heavier and bigger everyday.

I finally captured some images of Dylans first smile. My baby boy is thriving and I cant believe he is almost two months. He still sleeps alot but is coming around and trying to stay awake for longer periods. He really is such a good baby. Iam so happy Dylan is here and is healthy. I will admit at first I didnt think I would be able to love anyone as much as I love Diego. I was totally wrong, as soon as I first saw him the love just poured out. I can not imagine him not being in our little family. I love my boys!

Smile For Mommy

I yuv you

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Dylan is officially 7 wks old tomorrow. He has come along way and is steadily gaining weight. As of yesterday he was about 9 lbs 6oz, although he did have pjs on. People still think he is a "new" baby, and he pretty much still acts like a new baby, but then again he was 5 wks early.

Today I caught Diego singing along to Jaime Foxx' song "Blame It" Those who have heard it know whats its about. There goes Diego singing "Aaaahhhh" during the "alcohol" part. Yes I was stunned! When we got home he told me "I yuv you daddy, I yuv you daddy, I yuv you". Sometime between Tuesday and today I have become daddy and Jesus is mommy. We also are going to start potty training! We will see how that goes.
